Directions: This idea generation sheet is your main submission for this final project. It walks you through the process of talking about the research, the problem that you found, and the multimedia solution you’ve arrived at. You will upload this onto a Final Project folder in the GDrive—put it inside a folder with the last names of the people in your group. Once you have a first set of answers, you can send me a link to the Google Document, and we can start talking about it and you can revise until Finals Week.
You can work in pairs or in threes.
- Which part of the study is your idea based or inspired by? Please write down the direct quotes with proper citation below.
- What is the problem that you are drawing or seeing based on the above quote? Please write the problem down in one to five sentences below.
- What is the multimedia solution to this problem? Make sure to talk about the following: (a) What is this direct solution to the problem in number 2? (b) How does it address the problem exactly? (c) How is this a multimedia solution?
Note that you do not need to limit yourself to using multimedia (apps, websites, social media) in the way that it is always used. Extra points for going beyond the usual ways in which we use multimedia to solve problems.
- Is this idea executable? How can this be actually be executed if you had the time and energy to do so?
- Generate your copy for this idea: (1) Name it! (2) Create a slogan for it. (3) Create an About Text for it.
BONUS: Create a poster for this project. This means copy (name and slogan) and design that will sell the project as a solution or response to the crisis of disinformation. You can do this individually or in your pairs/groups. 10 points.
