History of Graphic Design (HISGRP)

Hi everyone!

This is your History of Graphic Design (HISGRP) Class for Term 1, 2020-2021.

I’ve created this space for those of you who might not be familiar with Big Sky. All materials will be there as well, but I realize that if you haven’t been using it all this time, learning the facility at this point is an additional thing that might keep you from enjoying this course. I also try to keep you on this site as much as possible, so that you don’t need to use up more data to click on a link to get anywhere else. All the videos and podcasts are embedded from other pages, so you can watch it here. At most, you will be redirected to our Class Google Drive for your syllabus, readings, and other documents.

This is a history class, which means that we are doing an amount of reading and analysis throughout the term. There is also a creative requirement that we can plan together to see how we can make it most doable for you during this term.

I know many of you are anxious about this term and the shift to online learning, but know that we are practicing  flexibility in order to address some of your anxieties and stresses. I know it’s not easy to be learning in the context of a pandemic, our terrible internet connections, and the nation in general.

All I ask is that you are open, willing, and committed to seeing this term through with me.
